Warrior Camp 2023 at the Whiter Water Center

Each year we kick off our first semester with Warrior Camp! This year Warrior Camp was held at the US National Whitewater Center. Each House was broken into groups to compete in an Adventure Race! We challenged each student to step a bit outside of their comfort zones and, wow, did they accept the challenge!

After the race was complete, we all had lunch together and then spent the afternoon whitewater rafting and zip lining!

One raft took quite the topple, but everyone was so brave! Lilly, Anna, Taylor, Connor, and Mr. Copeland took full advantage of the first aid station! In the end, everyone was okay and lots of memories were made! It was a day filled with adventure!

First Place- House Fides

Second Place- House Constantia

Third place- House Audacia

Fourth Place- House Sapientia

Special thanks to our new teachers Mr. Wright, Mr. Morrow, and Ms. O’Rourke!

2023-24 CCS Leaders

Our CCS student leaders came together for a day of training, fellowship, planning, and team building. After our welcome and devotion, the leaders jumped right in to a little friendly competition.

4th Quarter Winner and Covenant Cup Winner 2023

4th quarter was full of fun and fellowship! Please see our past blogs with details on many of the 4th quarter events and activities.

In 4th Quarter…

The House with the most Core Values was – actually a tie between House Fides and House Audacia

The House with the most Leadership points was – House Sapientia

The House with the most Academic points was – House Fides

The House with the most Spirit was- House Fides

The House with the most Service was- House Audacia

But in the end it was House Fides who claimed the victory for 4th quarter! Congratulations House Fides!!!

House Fides 2774 pts

House Audacia 2443 pts

House Sapientia 2282 pts

House Constantia 1926 pts

Now for the 2022-23 Covenant Cup Winner…

The CCS Covenant Cup winner is determined a bit differently than the quarter winners.  It is not a sum of points accumulated over each quarter that determines the winner, but rather the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th placement that each House has in the quarters as well as the placement in the Fall and Spring House Games.  It is not only important to try to secure some 1st place wins, but equally important is to not place 3rd or 4th in any of the qtrs.

As you can see from the chart above, to win the Covenant Cup a House does not have to win each quarter, but it needs to have the least 3rd and 4th place finishes each quarter. However this year, we had a TIE between House Audacia and House Fides, who both ended the year with 10 points.

The tie breaker is determined by which House has the most over all Core Value points from all 4 quarters.

And therefore with a combined total of 25 more Core Value points over the year, the 2022-23 Covenant Cup Winner is… HOUSE Audacia!

TheAudacia flag will fly and their crest will be framed and hung in the lobby for all of the 2023-24 school year until the next Covenant Cup winner is determined.

Spring Games 2023

On May 12th we held our annual Spring Games! We kicked off the day with each House presenting their prepared House chant!

After the chants the Houses played in a “Blind Volleyball Tournament,” almost all House members rotated through the games! The competition was fierce!

Each House Captain divided their House members into 3 teams. After the chants the teams rotated through the gym, commons, and back field!

For the first round of competition, in the commons, the groups collaborated on a piece of House art.

Pictures of many of the other fun games are below.

Stick Ball

Run Mat Relay

Color Cone Relay

Code Breaker

Brick Relay

Egg Tower

Sponge Relay

Tug of War

Water Balloon with EGG-stra life

And the Spring Games winner was HOUSE FIDES with 67 points. Congratulations!

House Sapientia came in 2nd place with 71 points. House Audacia came in 3rd place with 83 points. And finally House Constantia came in 4th place with 84 points.
