End of the Year Fun

The month of May is characteristically a whirlwind of activities and events designed to cap off the school year with sweet memories before we send our beloved seniors off to their next chapter in life. This past May was no exception.

Student Government hosted another Pancake Breakfast in order to raise funds to purchase a much needed AED machine for the school.

The seniors hosted the Senior Chapel and received their House pillows.  At that chapel they each shared things they learned over their time at CCS, answered questions from the students, and shared words of advice.

Miss Leland and Miss Ruffatto hosted the CCS Art Show at the Cabarrus Art Guild highlighting the works of students in Art 1 and Art 2 elective classes.

Our seniors presented their theses to the upper school students, faculty, friends, and family.  Each then had to defend his/her thesis to a panel of faculty advisors that asked difficult and thought-provoking questions.

Thesis Titles:
Cameron Warner: What a Wonderful World
Laura Sneed: The Final Execution – The Death of Capital Punishment in America
Lauren Cox: There’s No Such Thing as a Dragon
Lydia Lawing: True Religion – Why the Orphan Crisis Should Matter to the Christian
Chloe Gantz: Missions – A Journey to Find What We Have Lost
Harrison Propst: Work in the Modern Age

Thank you House Audacia for providing snacks for the panelists and seniors.  And thank you House Fides for providing food and drinks for the audience.

Speaking of the Houses, the last House meeting of the year started with a little competitive fun for the leaders and advisors.

Game 1: One of the out going House Prefects was wrapped up in streamers by the incoming House Prefects and a House Advisor.

Game 2: One House Advisor from each House had to unravel a large package of streamers the fastest.  1st place – Fides, 2nd place – Sapientia, 3rd place Audacia

Grateful for leaders and advisors that love to have fun!

Lastly, the Student Government hosted a lake day party at the Williamsen’s home on Lake Norman. We had a super turnout (I wish I had taken pictures before more than half the group had left.)  Thankfully, the weather cooperated, and fun was had by all!
