Serving at the Cabarrus County Special Olympics each spring is something the upper school students look forward to every year. This year the Spring Games were held on April 11th and the CCS sophomores, juniors, and seniors served as buddies to the athletes.

The CCS students were paired with athletes ranging in age from 7 to 18. As buddies one of the responsibilities of the CCS students was to make sure their particular athlete got to each event and heat on time that was listed on his/her nametag.

The best part of being a buddy is cheering on the athletes through the various events, talking/dancing/playing with them while they wait to compete, and giving lots of hugs and high fives!

It was a special day for ALL of us!!
