One of our favorite service projects to participate in each year is Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. This year we had two different ways for CCS students to participate.

First, we had a “packing” day at school for 7th through 12th graders. The CCS grammar school contributed much of the supplies. Mrs. Gantz’s 5th grade class brought in the most items.

Several HUNDRED boxes were created and delivered to the Charlotte processing center!!

The second option for participation with Operation Christmas Child was to sign up to serve at the processing center down in Charlotte. We had over 50 students with members of their families serving.

The Christmas door decorating contest was separated by grades rather than Houses. The reward was “bragging” rights! Sadly, we don’t have a picture of the 10th grade door, but below you can see the other festive designs. The 7th grade had a beach theme, the 8th grade had a Shup-dog theme, 9th grade had a Buddy the Elf theme, the 10th grade had a Calvin and Hobbs theme, the 11th grade had a naughty list theme, and the 12th grade had a Santa’s Helpers theme.

Buddy (aka Mr. Copeland) with his head elf (Mrs. Arensman) came in 1st place!!

Over 100 CCS students and family members participated in the Santa Scramble in downtown Concord. The Warrior Spirit earned our school a $1,000 prize for having the largest school representation in the race!!

For the Upper School Fall Dance, the Social Prefects in SG chose to hire a “caller” for some country line dancing. With Mr. Richie giving the instructions and calling out the steps, all the students got in the swing of things and had a great time!

October also brought the annual Pumpkin Carving contest! All four Houses did a great job and were so creative with their designs.

Another fall favorite event is the Fides Den Night! Board games, video games, laughter, food, and fellowship make for a great night of community and competition!

Each semester we have an Upper School spirit week! All students are encouraged to submit ideas for our spirit days and to participate! This years 7th grade class was on point!

Monday- Decades Day

Tuesday- Holiday

Wednesday – Tie Dye vs Camo

Thursday – Sports Day

Friday – Pink Out – (no pictures BUT we were all seeing a lot of pink that day! HA!)

The last day of Spirit Week was a delicious Pancake Breakfast feast.

There were students chosen each day as the “best dressed” for the particular theme to be on the Spirit Court during the Pep Rally which rounded out the week of fun.
