During our Foundations day on Tuesday, Mrs. Thigpen and Mrs. Haycox officially announced and introduced our 2019-2020 leaders for the Upper School.
Last Spring the campaigns were run, speeches were given, and our Student Government officers were elected!
Our Student Government President is Jaden Rudolph!
Garrett Cox is the Vice President!
Maggie Faircloth is our Spirit Prefect
And then each class elected a class representative or two depending on class size.
12th grade rep – Luke Richardson
11th grade rep – Ryan Gasparrini and Lauren Jones
10th grade rep – Sage Rudolph
9th grade rep – Rachel Strader and Sophie Gantz
8th grade rep – Tabitha Armstrong
7th grade rep – Anna Gasparrini
Over the summer the student leaders held two different leadership retreats to make plans for the coming year.
Besides reviewing the SG constitution and other business, the leaders participated in a leadership assessment quiz to learn who is a “Doer, Mover, Relator, or Thinker” and worked on problem solving skills via the “Human Knot” game.
The next week the leaders were treated to a day at the Hudson’s lake house for more planning and lots more fun!
During our Foundations day (the first official day of school), Mrs. Thigpen and Mrs. Haycox honored the leaders with a special leadership ceremony. Each Student Government leader was given a lapel pin of a knight and the Bible verse Ephesians 6:11.
Next Mrs. Thigpen and Mrs. Haycox introduced and pinned the new leaders for each House with a special and unique pin in the shape of their House mascot.
