Core Values, Oct. 12-21, 2015

 My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—  I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.  John 17: 20-23

Congratulations House Audacia for practicing unity:

  • One Member demonstrated SERVICE and FRIENDLINESS by helping cover the front door one morning, greeting students.
  • One Member demonstrated ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE by asking insightful questions in Mrs. Sneed’s Latin V class.
  • One Member demonstrated SERVICE by helping to clean up toilet paper around campus first thing in the morning.
  • Two Members exhibited SERVICE by taking out trash for Mrs. Wilmoth.
  • One Member received commendation from Mr. Leland for her SUPERB ENTHUSIASM during the Gladiatorial Games.
  • Three Members demonstrated SERVICE by moving bleachers for the Fall Festival for Mr. Staggers.

  • One Member demonstrated SERVICE and FRIENDLINESS by helping cover the front door one morning, greeting students.
  • One Member demonstrated SERVICE by offering to assist Mrs. Dearing in passing out books.
  • Three Members demonstrated SERVICE by taking out the trash for Mr. Leland without being asked.
  • Three Members demonstrated SERVICE  by retrieving and setting up chairs for Mrs. Dearing for the mock trial.
  • Three Members demonstrated SERVICE by taking out trash for Mr. Wilmoth and Mr. Morton.
  • Two Members demonstrated SERVICE by moving bleachers for the Fall Festival.

Congratulations House Sapientia for practicing unity:

  • One Member demonstrated KINDNESS to a younger student in the after-care program.
  • One Member demonstrated SERVICE by retrieving and setting up chairs for Mrs. Dearing for the mock trial.
  • One Member  demonstrated THOUGHTFULNESS when he remembered to make sure Mrs. Bingham’s door was locked after the substitute teacher left.
  • One Member demonstrated SERVICE by moving bleachers for the Fall Festival.
  • One Member, not even in her class, demonstrated THOUGHTFULNESS and KINDNESS when he noticed Mrs. Dearing was moving desks and stopped to help her.

36% of the points awarded in Academics and Leadership
25% of the points awarded in Community Service
22% of the points awarded in Core Value demonstrations
12% of the points awarded in Spirit/Social activities
5%  of the points awarded in Athletic participation

CCS Warriors have Spirit!  Each house showed their spirit by participating (and dressing accordingly) each day with the following themes:

Truck Tuesday also had a house competition for the picture that looked most like the theme. Audacia took 1st place (15pts) because not only are they on a truck, but you can see it.  Fides came in 2nd (10pts) because they are on a truck…but you can’t see it.  And Sapientia came in 3rd (5pts).

  • One Member demonstrated CHIVALRY when he gave up his warm, dry seat to one of the students at the cold, wet soccer game on Friday.
  • One Member demonstrated SERVICE by taking out the trash without being asked.

  • One Member exhibited EXCELLENCE during a Socratic seminar by following directions, taking corrections, and beautifully presenting her materials.
  • One Member demonstrated HELPFULNESS by assisting students with an assignment in Mrs. Dearing’s class.
