  • One member exhibited CHIVALRY and SERVICE by carrying an injured student’s backpack for her all week.
  • One member exhibited ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE in his critical thinking skills in Mr. Leland’s class.

Congratulations House Fides for exhibiting the following core values:

  • One member exhibited SERVICE by going to find a cord for some students’ presentations even though it was raining.
  • One member exhibited COURAGE during her excellent recitation for Mr. Leland.
  • One member exhibited HUMILITY in his willingness to ask for help when he is confused.
  • One member consistently exhibits KINDNESS and SELFLESSNESS by helping a student in class who needs encouragement in class.

Congratulations House Sapientia for exhibiting the following core values:

  • Two members exhibited INITIATIVE and COURAGE by stepping out for consideration of leadership roles.
  • One member exhibited SERVICE by assisting Mrs. Kuhn with the set up and utilization of the new year book camera.
  • One member exhibited ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE in her reading and writing in Mr. Leland’s class.
  • One member exhibited ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE on his senior thesis in Mr. Leland’s class.

House “Dean” Team Updates – 4/20/15

CCS Upper School Students demonstrated their servant hearts by helping set up for the Book Fair.

The Upper School students also participated in the Grandparent’s Day program by handing out programs, greeting visitors, singing, reciting Latin, leading worship, food preparation, and directing parking. (Audacia – 27pts, Fides – 42pts, Sapientia – 36pts)

Sapientia challenged its House members to a Book Drive for the CCS Library.  A total of 52 books were donated!  Way to go, Sapientia! (5pts – Admin Leadership, 52 pts for books collected)

Core Values, April 13-17, 2015

When I can confidently predict that my students, having developed an intentional habit of obedience or disobedience, will obey in this or that circumstance, I can credit him with character.   • One member demonstrated a SERVANT’S HEART when he volunteered to say the blessing for dinner on the Charleston trip.
  • One member demonstrated INITIATIVE and SERVICE when he remained after dinner on the Charleston trip to push all the chairs under the table and throw away any trash left behind.
  • One member demonstrated SERVICE by taking our Mrs. Dearing’s overflowing trash can even though it was raining.

  • One member demonstrated HUMILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, and PERSEVERANCE by coming to school after an exhausting school trip.

  • One member demonstrated INITIATIVE and LEADERSHIP in Spanish class by voluntarily guiding and aiding his classmates through an oral exercise practice.
  • One member demonstrated GRATITUDE when he thanked a veteran for his service in the Navy on the USS Laffey.

 

Student Government Elections

Right before Easter break, the CCS Student Government held elections for SG President and Vice President for the 2015-2016 school year.

The signage was creative, and all four of the speeches were amazing! There were two candidates for Vice President and two candidates for President.
