Special thanks to Mr. Wayne, Christian Tours and our AMAZING chaperones! The 9th and 10th graders visited Appomattox Courthouse, Colonial Williamsburg, and the Jamestown settlement. They had so much fun and learned so much.
Fall Fun!!
Our fall semester was jam packed with pumpkin carving, the annual Fides Bonfire, a trip to Colonial Williamsburg, and a fall themed Senior Lunch!
On October 19th, each House was given 4 pumpkins to carve for our pumpkin carving competition. The categories were:
Best Pumpkin Face – 1st place – House Audacia
Book Themed Pumpkin – 1st place – House Sapientia
House Spirit Pumpkin – 1st place – House Fides
Grammar School Favorite Pumpkin – 1st place – House Fides
On October 21st House Fides hosted their annual bonfire at the Kirwin’s house! Students from the whole Upper School came out for an evening of fellowship and memory making! We made s’mores, played volleyball and basketball, and some crazy kiddos even swam!
The Senior parents hosted a fall themed lunch for seniors and faculty! It was so delicious!
Fall Games
We kicked off the 2023-24 Fall House games with house chants and then a balloon stomp competition. Each House member tied a balloon to each foot and the last person standing with an inflated balloon won!

After the balloon stomp, we began our FIRST EVER Christmas Cookie Cook Off!!! The bakers headed into the kitchen, found their requested supplies, and began baking!
Each House also chose a team of students to decorate a House themed Christmas tree for the Commons!
Once the bakers and tree trimmers were all set each House chose 3 young men for our wall hold competition….it went much longer than expected.
With decorations in the works and cookies baking, it was time to wrap some presents!

Next onto a little Christmas art! With sharpies, string, paper and team work the House members drew a Christmas scene!

After we checked in on the walls, the bakers, and the trees, we had a chocolate candy relay! Each team member had to unwrap a chocolate kiss….using oven mitts, then eat it!

Literally the last man standing wast Patrick York! Way to go House Constantia!!
Onto a classic relay- Feed the Reindeer! Students had to scoot on scooters to pick up the reindeer food and the toss it to a teammate, who the tossed them into a bucket- the team with the most reindeer food in the bucket won!

We cannot have Fall Games without Thanksgiving dinner! Do you decorate before or after Thanksgiving?
As you can see by the students’ faces- the meal was DELICIOUS! The Constantia and Fides students gobbled that meal right up!
Once dinner was over, it was time to taste the cookies! Special thanks to our judges: Mrs. Russell, Mrs. Cross, Ms. Caldwell and Mrs. Kuhn!

The juniors and seniors woke up early to cook pancakes!
The entire school came together for our neon themed pep rally!

Several of our fall athletes partnered with a grammar school student for a three legged race!
Time for a game of blindfolded musical chairs for the upper school students and teachers.
We ended the day with some House relays on the back field!

Mini Golf Hosted by House Sapientia
House Sapientia hosted an evening of mini golf for House Sapientia and House Constantia! Everyone gathered at Jocko’s Minis Golf for pizza and putt-putt!
Social Prefect, Ryan Kerzner did an excellent job planning the first social event of the year!
Peyton Cook ended the night with a final shot that broke the hole! Thankfully Eli Cranford saved the day and repaired it! Thanks so much House Sapienta for such a fun evening of mini golf!
