Thank you House Audacia for continued acts of kindness:

  • Two Members BLESSED holding open the door for Mrs. Quillen and other students between classes.
  • Two Members SERVED by helping Mr. Cook and Mrs. Rudolph with putting away the bleachers after assembly.
  • One Member demonstrated INTEGRITY by reporting a grading mistake on Mrs. Quillen’s part that would have cost him points.  Due to his HONESTY, no points were deducted.
  • One Member displayed a HEART to SERVE by taking out Mrs. Quillen’s trash.
  • One Member demonstrated THOUGHTFULNESS when she gave a book to a parent visitor, so she could follow along.
  • Two Members demonstrated a HEART to SERVE by taking out Mrs. Sneed’s trash.
  • One Member displayed KINDNESS and INITIATIVE by picking up Mrs. Arensman’s trash, bagging it up and taking it out to the dumpsters without being asked or prompted.
  • One Member displayed THOUGHTFULNESS by bringing in chairs to Mrs. Quillen’s room for parent shadow day…
  • And then another Member returned the chairs.
  • One Member shows a DESIRE TO LEARN by asking wonderful, engaging questions in Physics.  His interest and questions bring much energy to the class discussions.
  • One Member SERVED by taking out Mr. Morton’s trash.

  • One Member SERVED by vacuuming Mrs. Quillen’s room.
  • One Member was HELPFUL when she cleaned out Mrs. Quillen’s microwave.

  • One Member was KIND by offering to help a student at lunch who is struggling.
  • One Member showed HOSPITALITY by welcoming the parents who visited during the Parent Shadow Day.

  • Two Members demonstrated KINDNESS, CARE, and FRIENDSHIP by comforting the grammar school students and keeping them quiet and orderly in Mrs. Sneed’s room during the lock-down.
  • Two Members SERVED Mr. Cook by putting up the soccer goal nets for him.
  • One Member demonstrated KINDNESS by graciously taking out Mrs. Quillen’s trash.
  • One Member showed INITIATIVE by cleaning up the trash in Mrs. Arensman’s room without being asked.
  • One Member demonstrated the PURSUIT of KNOWLEDGE in asking Mrs. Arensman for ways to further her studies outside of class requirements.
  • One Member demonstrated FRIENDSHIP and SERVICE by sitting with the K4 class in the morning before school and trying to cheer up those that are crying.
  • One Member in Biology class showed INITITATIVE by springing into action to clean up a spill that another class member had accidentally made.
  • Two Members displayed SERVICE by supporting Mr. Cook in some odd jobs.
  • One Member offered to HELP with morning drop off duty when Mr. Morton was working it alone and CHEERFULLY executed said service.
  • One Member offered to HELP clean Mr. Morton’s classroom and vacuumed it with a very CHEEFUL attitude.
  • Two Members showed KINDNESS by running to assist someone needing an extra hand.
  • One Member showed concern and COMPASSION for a fellow student.
  • One Member showed KINDNESS and CONSIDERATION for other by holding the gym doors for the student body.
  • Two Member displayed HELPFULNESS by taking out Miss Leland’s classroom trash.

  • One Member SERVED by working enthusiastically to clean up the art classroom last Friday.
  • One Member performed with EXCELLENCE by leading her class in their recitation practice.
  • One Member showed KINDNESS by spending 20 minutes before school on Friday playing with the K-4 students.  They adore him and he is absolutely wonderful with them.
  • Three Members demonstrated KINDNESS, CARE, and FRIENDSHIP by comforting the grammar school students and keeping them quiet and orderly in Mrs. Sneed’s room during the lock-down.
  • One Member SERVED Mr. Cook by putting up the soccer goal nets for him.
  • One Member has been demonstrating WONDER and a LOVE FOR LEARNING by asking great questions during Biology and bringing forward great thoughts and ideas.
  • One Member in Biology class showed INITITATIVE by springing into action to clean up a spill that another class member had accidentally made.
  • Two Members were extremely HELPFUL to Mrs. Quillen in class when she had lost her voice.  In their KINDNESS they also cleaned lab dishes.
  • One Member displayed SERVICE by supporting Mr. Cook in some odd jobs.
  • One Member impressed Mr. Morton by anticipating his sister’s absence from a House Meeting and of his own volition brought the meeting’s agenda to HELP facilitate a successful meeting.
  • Seven Member displayed SERVICE by taking out Mr. Morton’s trash on different days.
  • One Member offered to HELP with morning drop off duty when Mr. Morton was working it alone and CHEERFULLY executed said service.
  • One Member offered to HELP clean Mr. Morton’s classroom and vacuumed it with a very CHEEFUL attitude.
  • One Member did an EXCELLENT job of reading a passage for her community group.

  • One Member demonstrated CHIVALRY by giving up his chair for a female classmate one day when she would have been sitting all along or without the girls.  That he moved to a seat that was completely away for his friends in order that she could sit with her friends was super gentlemanly.

  • One Member demonstrated WISDOM by seeking help with math and using her time wisely.
  • One Member demonstrates SERVICE, LOVE, and PATIENCE by frequently coming to the gym early, giving up time with friends, to sit with the kindergarten student, who absolutely adore her.
  • One Member went the extra mile to be HELPFUL by taking out Mrs. Sneed’s trash while it was raining.
  • One Member showed INITIATIVE, SERVICE, and KINDNESS when she offered to clean Mrs. Meirow’s whiteboards.
  • One Member showed INITIATIVE, SERVICE, KINDNESS, CARE, and CONCERN for Mrs. Meirow by brainstorming options on how to help her get a new podium.

  • One Member offered a CHEERFUL and HELPFUL hand to Miss Leland during morning drop off on Friday.
  • Two Members displayed ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE in Spanish this week.
  • One Member has been a LEADER with consistent effort, enthusiasm and being engaged in class discussions and projects.

That Warrior Spirit

The CCS Warrior Spirit is strong and active!

Several students came out to cheer Parker Rose (grade 8) and Thomas Way (grade 5) in the Cabarrus County Independent Schools Spelling Bee!!  And what fun it was to watch Parker come in first place (25pts for House Audacia), and Thomas Way grab third place!!!

Parker will advance to the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on Feb. 19 in Charlotte.
This is the sixth year in a row that Parker has qualified for the County Bee, and the third year in a row that Parker has advanced to the Regional Bee!

Congratulations to both Parker and Thomas!  We are all so proud of both of you!

And in the same week, House Audacia showed their school spirit by blessing the teachers with a Subway lunch!  (20pts)
