CCS Service Week

Galatians 5:13 “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

CCS students, faculty, and parents kicked off the month of August serving others.

First was helping our new Rhetoric school Math teacher, Mr. Morton, move into his new home by unloading his moving truck.
rsz_img_5855 rsz_img_5856 rsz_img_5858 rsz_img_5859 rsz_img_5861 rsz_img_5865

Then students cleaned out and re-organized the book closet and….rsz_img_5868 rsz_img_5871

…the theater storage closet.

Congratulations Fides!  Way to finish the year strong!
Fides-03rsz_img_4862

The Covenant Cup winner is determined a bit differently.  It is not a sum of points that determines the winner but rather the 1st, 2nd or 3rd placement that each House has in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters as well as the placement in the Fall and Spring House Games.  It is not only important to have the most 1st place wins but equally important is to not have too many 3rd place finishes.

Audacia Fides Sapientia
1st Qtr 3 1 2
2nd Qtr 1 3 2
Fall Games 2 3 1
3rd Qtr 2 1 3
4th Qtr 3 1 2
Spring Games 2 3 1
Final Total for Covenant Cup 13 12 11

And so as you can see from the table above, the 2014-15 Covenant Cup Winner is…

House “Dean” Team Update May 5-8, 2015

The first week of May our seniors presented their Senior Thesis topics in front of friends, family, students, our school board, and members of our community. This is the capstone of their classical education. After their speeches, seniors answered questions from our administration and teachers. A variety of interesting topics were presented including the impact of the internet on society, the need for changes to the Food and Drug Administration, data mining, U.S. Foreign Policy, space exploration, the U.S. Welfare System, and more. GREAT JOB, CLASS OF 2015! rsz_seniorthesisrsz_img_4943

Tears were shed as our Upper School students and faculty gathered around our seniors and prayed for them at our Senior Chapel. We pray God’s richest blessings on the Class of 2015!
