For the 7th-12th grades, there is the Board Game Club, the Wargaming/RPG Club, and the newly established Spanish Club.

S.A.B.M (the Society for the Art of Biblical Masculinity) Club returned this year and motivated the girls to start the GLOW (God Lighting Our Way) Bible study club.

Fall House Games 2018

The 5th Annual Fall House Games Competition wrapped up just in time for the Thanksgiving Break. As in previous years, the competition was fierce but filled with silly games, laughter, and good sportsmanship.

For each game, the House leaders had some games that they had to strategically determine which members should participate based on the skills needed or the willingness of the members to do some of the crazier activities. Each game had the 1st place winner receive 1 point, 2nd place winner receive 2pts, and 3rd place winner receive 3pts. The “Ultimate Winner of the Fall House Games” was the House with the lowest number of points.

From the start, House Fides came out strong winning 1st place in the first several games.  But the other Houses soon learned that gross eating challenges are the Achilles’ heal for Fides.  After the baby food Thanksgiving meal, the Houses were neck and neck on the point totals.  At the end of the day, House Fides narrowly pulled out the win!

Congratulations Fides! Well Done!

Final Scores:
Fides – 18 points
Sapientia –  21 points
Audacia – 27 points

Below are some of the pictures from the fun afternoon!

House Chant Challenge – 1st Fides, 2nd Sapientia, 3rd Audacia

This year the lack of House meetings, due to being at Parkwood Church, made practicing the House chants somewhat challenging.  Being the defending Chant Champion, House Sapientia had the honor of determining which House went first in the Chant Competition.  Audacia  improved their chant by incorporating some choreography this year.  Fides also changed up their performance from last year.  And those flying birds returned for Sapientia.  The judges – Mrs. Prince and Mrs. Dearing – had a tough decision, but it was the clear articulation of the chant and the coordinated movements of House Fides that sealed the deal and gave Fides the win.

Balloon Stomp – This game continues to be a favorite with the Houses. 1st Fides, 2nd Audacia, 3rd Sapientia

Army Man Pick Up – This game was for the House Captains only.  They had to use their toes to pick up as many plastic army men while moving crab-style.  1st Fides, 2nd Sapientia, 3rd Audacia

“Hoop” Well Do You Know Your House? – House members passed a Hula Hoop around the circle and then one member at a time had to race to fill out a chart that showed they know the House mascot, colors, motto, and 8 core values.  1st Fides, 2nd Audacia, 3rd Sapientia

5 Kernels of Corn Blanket Relay

Oh Baby…It’s Thanksgiving Dinner – This game called for some brave eaters.   They had to lick their plate clean of baby food turkey and veggies, sweet potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie, and prunes.
Heat 1 – Juniors – 1st Sapientia, 2nd Fides, 3rd Audacia
Heat 2 – Sophomores – 1st Sapientia, 2nd Fides, 3rd Audacia
Heat 3 – Freshman – 1st Sapientia, 2nd Fides, 3rd Audacia
Heat 4 – 8th graders – 1st Audacia, 2nd Sapientia, 3rd Fides
Heat 5 – 7th graders – 1st Audacia, 2nd Fides, 3rd Sapientia

Prefect Balloon Statues – 1st Sapientia, 2nd Fides, 3rd Audacia

Extreme Rock Paper Scissor – no pictures of this game.  Each House won and so the points all cancelled each other out.  Fides beat Audacia. Audacia beat Sapientia. Sapientia beat Fides.

Oven Mitt Kiss Relay – 1st Fides, 2nd Sapientia, 3rd Audacia

The House members had to race down and unwrap a Hershey’s kiss while wearing oven mitts and then eat the kiss before returning to tag the next member.

All in all, the day was a “howl’in, hoot’in,and growl’in” good time!
