As an alternate field trip for the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades, CCS hosted two Science Integration Days! The focus was on trees and the history, science, and art of paper making.
The 7th graders worked together to form, build and decorate paper mache trees. They began with a theme and a sketch – basically a blueprint. Then they used chicken wire and various other items to build their tree forms. They added paper mache and then painted and decorated them.
The finished trees were unique, creative, and colorful works of art!
The 8th and 9th graders followed the same process to create masks.
In some down time the students and teachers enjoyed playing some games together.
A big thank you to Mrs. Quillen, Mrs. Hudson, Miss Leland, Mrs. Bowling, Mrs. Trapp, and Mrs. Shuping for all their hard work during these fun science integration days!
